A complaint is a written request for investigation by the
Department. To make a complaint, complete the complaint form
provided below, and submit a signed copy to the Department
with copies of all relevant documents.
Once a written complaint is
received by the Department, it is assigned for
investigation. Typical investigations vary in length, and
depending on the complexity and nature of the complaint, may
require a substantial amount of time. Often, the complainant
will be contacted again for additional information. The
complainant will be notified, once a resolution has been
determined.
It is the Department’s policy to conduct investigations
on a confidential basis. The existence of an investigation
and information and documents gathered during an
investigation will not be disclosed, subject to the
requirements of the Securities and Business Opportunity Acts
and the Oklahoma Open Records Act, unless made a matter of
public record in an administrative or civil proceeding.
Also, all information provided to the Department by a
complainant is deemed a permanent part of the file and is
not returned.
